DESIGN BRIEF
the broadside project asked students to explore a poem and depict it in a nonliteral way. I chose the poem "he told stories the way you peel a fruit" by Venus Khoury-ghata, a French poem translated by Marilyn hacker. the poem describes a story-teller in a local community that interests those around him with his tall tales. I incorporated both the ideas presented by the imagery of the fruit as well as that of his listeners to complete my project.
